Shell.
This piece was part of an all female exhibition I took part in called SIXTEEN in the city of Southampton. The exhibition took place in Guildhall Square, in three shipping containers.
The piece portrays a personal battle to come to terms with one's most intimate insecurities. In creating flimsy hollow shells of lower bodies, exposed to the elements and to the public, I am visually representing the anxiety that comes with the thought of exposed vulnerability. 'Shell' consists of a variety of female bodies, representing the many experiences through life that can unite women. It is also a nod to the fact that this was an all female exhibition.

Ladies.
After years away from Lino Printing, I came back to the technique with this print. This was part of a series of work I created about finding comfort where discomfort exists. In this instance I focused on the relationship with one's own body.

The accusation didn't wash and the little company got the business anyway and asked me to create this reminder that small is beautiful, even when you only have a skeleton staff ...
